5 Free Yoga Workout Videos You Can Do At Home

Posted by Laura

I love to train. I love to go to spinning classes, I love to do strength training, I love GRIT classes (if you haven't tried this Les Mills sweat session, do it. Now) I even love the odd HIIT workout.

One thing I'm not so in love with? Recovery and rest and stretching. In my quest for constant improvement, I tend to neglect my poor aching body, assuming it will just push through the next session and beyond.

This is where yoga is great - not only can you increase your strength and flexibility it can also help prevent injury.

Check out these awesome free yoga videos you can try from the comfort of your own home!

I'm a big fan of the squat and the deadlift and frequently find myself with tight hip flexors. So finding Sonia Doubells's Yoga for tight hips workout has done just the trick!

Who doesn't love the Tone It Up girls?! This yoga flow is great for strengthening your body and increasing flexibility and includes a short section of meditation at the end. At times the sequence can be a little quick, so maybe one to save till later if you're an absolute beginner.

Yoga isn't just for the ladies - so if there's any guys out there looking for an introduction to yoga then check out this Man Flow Yoga video. In just under 15 minutes, it talks you through 7 basic yoga postures such as the low lunge, child's pose and a seated twist. No gentle lapping waves or peaceful music here - this is yoga fundamentals at their most basic.

Haven't got a clue what a sun salutation is? Then press play and watch Kino Macgregor show you the basics of yoga in this 12 minute beginners workout.

For those of you looking to practice yoga at a more spiritual level, this 30 day series by Yoga with Adriene may be just what you're looking for.

As with all exercise (and especially at home workouts) it's important to practice good technique and not push yourself too hard when attempting any new activity. Although all these videos are great, nothing beats having an instructor on hand to help you get a real feel for yoga - get some free passes to local yoga classes by joining Move free today!

After 3 years of excess at uni took a serious toll on my waistline and wellbeing, I found that a love for strength training, HIIT and spin classes were key to keeping me healthy and happy. I'm at the forefront of finding out and creating awesome stuff about health, fitness and happiness and when I'm not at work I love nothing more than pizza and prosecco in the sun with friends. What motivates me? Knowing that life is short...
