Bake Off Is Back: Here's 5 Healthy Baking Recipes

The Olympics is great and I for one will be very sad when they are over. But there's something on the horizon to help soften the blow - Great British Bake Off!

Now into its seventh series, Bake off has been inspiring people to turn their hand at folding and stirring, kneading and icing since it came on our screens back in 2010. If you find yourself getting inspired by Bake Off, expanding your baking repertoire doesn't have to mean expanding your waistline too. Check out the 5 healthiest bakes we've found on the net!

1. Raw cacao, avocado and raspberry cake recipe

This cake by Detox Kitchen looks sinful, but is actually full of nutritious ingredients like avocado, dates and hazelnuts. Check out the recipe here.

2. Moroccan orange & cardamom cake

This recipe from BBC food replaces sugar for xylitol and butter and oil for pureed orange giving it a healthy kick. Check out the recipe here.  

3. Healthy Banana Bread

This banana bread from Cookie + Kate is made with wholewheat flour and is naturally sweetened with honey. It can also be easily adapted to make it vegan, gluten, dairy or egg free. Check out the recipe here.
