Flow Yoga: MoveAWARDS Yoga Studio Winner

Posted by Laura

This week we're chatting to Manon from Flow Yoga, winner of the Best Yoga Studio category in the MoveAWARDS to find out more about what motivates her and how she came to get involved in health and fitness.

What inspired you to get into the world of fitness?

I have been practicing yoga for many many years but practicing different styles of yoga in Bali 2012 really made me see how yoga not only benefits me but can be of great benefit to everyone. I was keen to learn more and decided to embark on a teacher training which inspired me to share and start teaching. After teaching in Bristol for a while  I had a baby in March 2015. After my maternity leave I felt I wanted to inspire other moms to get back into fitness gently and have some quality time with their babies on the mat, therefore increasing the hours I teach. I felt the South of Bristol did not offer a great holistic space and rental rates for rooms without the right facilities are fairly expensive. For that reason I decided to look for a space to offer my classes from and a space that I could share with other teachers, this is how Flow Yoga Bristol started.

What do you love most about what you do?

We love to offer yoga to the whole community and being able to offer classes for all kind of levels and abilities and giving our students the confidence to practice yoga in a safe space where they can relax, unwind and let go is just amazing.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

We hope to keep growing within our local community. As we only opened 5 months ago we hope to welcome more students, increase the variety of workshops and classes and hold regular charity events to give something back to the local community too.

Who or what is your inspiration?

There are many people that inspired me- but really just anyone who follows their dream and listens to their heart.

If you're in Bristol you can try out a class at Flow Yoga for free! Just follow this link and sign up to get 3 free fitness passes!

After 3 years of excess at uni took a serious toll on my waistline and wellbeing, I found that a love for strength training, HIIT and spin classes were key to keeping me healthy and happy. I'm at the forefront of finding out and creating awesome stuff about health, fitness and happiness and when I'm not at work I love nothing more than pizza and prosecco in the sun with friends. What motivates me? Knowing that life is short...
