Why try something new on The Big Day of Move

BigDayMove_Generic.png

The countdown is on! Here at MoveGB HQ, we’ve been busily getting ready to celebrate a very special day. It’s a day dedicated to getting you moving, a day that’s completely free, a day that will get those endorphins pumping and have you freaking invigorated by the spirit of Move! It is *drumroll please* the Big Day of Move!

Because this day is all about breaking down our barriers to exercise, meeting new people and getting active with your friends, we’ve spoken to some of the stars of the day who have been invited to the big day by a Mover and asked them why they are planning to attend. Have a read of five reasons why some of the early Big Day of Move pass-holders are giddy with excitement...

On Saturday 22
nd April 2017, hundreds of classes across our brilliant partners throughout Bristol, Bath and Brighton will be holding an open day for MoveGB pass-holders. We’re holding this day to give you the chance to move more and try something new, for free! Find your next fitness motivation, be happy and squeeze as much as you can from life!

The Movers: Why we’re hitting up the Big Day of Move

Martha H from Bristol

I normally stick to the same work-outs where I feel super comfortable, but on this day, I can shake up my routine. I’m going to be dragging my friends out with me to try a few new classes that I’ve always wanted to give a go. Having my mates with me will finally give me the confidence to enter that BoxFit class, and they can’t say no because it won’t cost them a penny!

John H from Bath

I’m normally way too busy to get to a class on a Saturday, but knowing that this is free and that the Big Day runs all day… well, I can definitely spare an hour or two moving! There’s so much to choose from the timetables, I just need to quickly book my spot in the class once my invite is confirmed.

Sophie S from Bristol

I’ve been a mover for a few years, but I tend to stick to my routines and to the teachers I know well. Having a browse of the different free sessions has got me real curious about some classes! I want to try something different, something new, something a bit weird… so Techno Yoga at Hamilton House is where I’ll be! A pretty good way to start a Saturday!

Elly F from Brighton

My friends and I are pretty frugal when it comes to spending. The commitment of a monthly gym membership or laying down a chunk of money for 10 classes is a bit too much! The Big Day of Move will give us a taste of what Move offers in Brighton without any commitment. Who knows, maybe I’ll be a Move member soon!

I’m a bit of a yoga fanatic, so if there’s an opportunity for some free sessions, I’ll probably be saluting the sun all day long… also, there’s a sweet #BigDayOfMove competition where I could win tickets to Soul Circus Yoga Festival in the summer…

Yup, Sarah’s right… you could win a fantastic prize!

#BigDayOfMove Competition:

Not only are we giving you a free buffet of endorphins, but we will also want to find the moviest mover around. Snap as many pics as you can of you and your friends working out on the Big Day, and send them through to us to be in to win two tickets to the most beautiful yoga festival around: Soul Circus Yoga & Wellness Festival.

We’ve got our invites waiting to be snapped up, but we just need you to register your interest first. You don’t need to already be a MoveGB member to join in (everyone and anyone can get involved!), but if you do have a Move account, be sure to still request an invite as spaces are limited. Sign up now for an invite to your city’s Big Day, and we’ll be in touch as soon as your spot can be confirmed!

Exercise used to always terrify me, until I was forced to face it head-on with an impending surfing trip. Yoga, gym sessions and the odd round with a punchbag opened up my eyes to getting active and feeling awesome from it! Travelling, social media and blogging are what I love both in and out of work. And yoga has become a serious obsession now...
