5 Healthy Breakfasts You Can Eat At Your Desk

Posted by Laura

Do you hit the gym before breakfast? Or does getting the kids ready and shipped to school leave little time to feed yourself? Perhaps you just prefer to have more shut-eye first thing?!

Whatever the reason you can't fit in breakfast before you get to work, we've got 5 healthy breakfast ideas you can eat at your desk!

1. Overnight Oats

 overnight oats

A chilled out (literally) version of Goldilocks' warming porridge, overnight oats are essentially oats that are left in the fridge overnight to absorb whatever liquid you choose (often milk and yoghurt) and paired with fruit, nuts and seeds to make for a filling breakfast. All you need is a Mason jar, a fridge and your ingredients - no microwave required! Check out these overnight oats recipes here

2. Breakfast Egg Muffins

If you're looking for a low carb option, a couple of these egg muffins are a perfect protein packed breakfast. All you need is a muffin tin, oven, eggs and your choice of veg and cheese! Get a recipe here.

3. Smoothie

If you find it hard to stomach solids early on in the day, then a smoothie is a great to sip at your desk and keep you sustained. Just make sure you're not setting yourself for a 3pm sugar crash slump by filling your smoothie full of veg - particularly iron rich leafy greens such as kale and spinach.

4. Peanut Butter On Toast

Peanut butter is a great thing to top your toast with due to its high healthy fats and protein content. Just make sure you choose a whole food option with no added sugar.

5. Baked Eggs In Avocado

I'm at the forefront of finding out and creating awesome stuff about health, fitness and happiness and when I'm not at work I love nothing more than pizza and prosecco in the sun with friends. What motivates me? Knowing that life is short...
