By Laura April 07, 2016

Check out our top gym bag essentials!

1. Wireless Earphones

Forget stuffing your phone or ipod in your waistband (or down your sports bra ladies), or wires that get in the way of just about everything, these wireless earphones work within a 10 metre range. Pop your phone in your gym bag or even leave it in the changing rooms if their close enough and enjoy your workout beats wire free!

2. Heart Rate Monitor

Want to take tracking your workouts to the next level? Then invest in a heart rate monitor. The chest strap accurately measures your heart rate showing you your calorie burn, your HR training zones plus loads more.

3. Foam Roller

Because it's hard to fit your own personal masseuse in your gym bag, foam rollers are the next best thing. Foam rolling can help increase blood flow around the body, range of movement and help prevent injury. If your gym doesn't provide them, then take one along to your next session and get rolling!

4. Microfibre Towel

Not only is carrying around one of your wet bath sheets post gym shower heavy, it can also smell a bit weird. Invest in a microfibre towel - it folds up super small and drys super quick so you can have more space for all your other gym bag essentials!

5. Resistance bands

If you're recovering from an injury or trying to strengthen a part of your body without the use of weights these bands are a must. Lightweight and portable, you can use them anywhere - their a must for any gym bag if your gym doesn't provide them.

6. Spare undies

Because there's really nothing worse than forgetting your smalls so take a tip from us and over pack your underwear!

7. Hand towel

Sweaty workouts are great - but you know what's not great? Leaving your sweat all over your spin bike / bench / treadmill. Pop a hand towel in your gym bag to ensure you mop up that awesomeness after you!

I'm at the forefront of finding out and creating awesome stuff about health, fitness and happiness and when I'm not at work I love nothing more than pizza and prosecco in the sun with friends. What motivates me? Knowing that life is short...
