Don't get me wrong, we love a good dose of motivation (heck we even send out daily inspire notes!)
Motivational quotes are everywhere, in fact if you search #motivationalquotes on Instagram there's over 437,000 images tagged (probably way more by the time this post has been published) Even more mind-boggling is that there's over 32 million images with the hashtag #inspiration. So you could say people are fully on board with the motivational movement.
However there's a few quotes that at best are a bit silly and at worst can be seriously damaging for a person's self esteem and confidence. With that in mind, here's 5 "motivational" quotes that you should probably take with a pinch of salt:
Pain is weakness leaving the body

No, pain is pain. There's a big difference between pushing yourself to your limits during a workout and the pain of injury. Listen to your body at all times and if something feels unfamiliar or indeed painful, stop.
Sweat is fat crying

Sadly not. Sweating can appear to make you lose weight temporarily but it will just be water weight - not fat. It's a little known fact that when we burn fat, it's primarily exhaled as carbon dioxide. So if anything the quote would be a lot more accurate if it said "Breathing hard is fat being blown out of your body." Catchy.
Skinny girls look good in clothes. Fit girls look good naked

Body shaming sucks. This is #fitspiration gone wrong in a big way. Bodies of all shapes and sizes look good in clothes and look good naked.
Do or do not - there is no try

Sorry Yoda, but this doesn't really make sense. There's lots of things you'll come across in life where you can't say with convinction if you can achieve them or not. Sometimes you just have to try - after all it's what makes life interesting!
