4 Ways To Continue Your January Motivation

Posted by Laura

So January is nearly over - how are you planning on motivating yourself for the rest of the year? Check out our top tips on how to continue your January motivation!

1. Find your inspiration

This is a very personal thing that's unique to everyone, but for me it's watching health and fitness Youtube bloggers. If I'm struggling to motivate myself to get to a workout, I'll also often have a quick scroll through some of my fave fitspirations Instagram feeds and 9 times out of 10 I'm then raring to go! Find what works for you, perhaps it's reading a blog, checking out some motivational quotes or refreshing yourself on your goals.

2. Add some variety

You may be absolutely killing your Crossfit sessions 4 times a week now which is awesome! After all if it aint broke, don't fix it. But what happens when you start losing motivation or skipping sessions? If you find yourself becoming bored or losing enthusiasm with your routine, try adding some new classes or wokouts to keep you interested.

3. Pick your people

Surround yourself with positive people who support and understand your goals. The friend or partner who's happy to have a sober night out, will look after your children so you can squeeze in a workout, or will be your workout buddy aswell as your study buddy.

4. Constantly set yourself new goals

You may have set yourself some goals in January to lose a bit of weight, to attend 3 classes a week or to ensure you get more sleep. Even better you may have achieved them! What's really important is that you keep setting yourself new, realistic goals that keep you motivated and to ensure you don't become complacent. A great goal to have is to focus on attendance and habit formation, once you crack this you'll find all your other goals seem a lot more achievable!

After 3 years of excess at uni took a serious toll on my waistline and wellbeing, I found that a love for strength training, HIIT and spin classes were key to keeping me healthy and happy. I'm at the forefront of finding out and creating awesome stuff about health, fitness and happiness and when I'm not at work I love nothing more than pizza and prosecco in the sun with friends. What motivates me? Knowing that life is short...
